Volunteers and resident donors contribute $3,200
The second annual PICK ME event, which commemorated Senior Gleaners' 25th anniversary this year, brought in $3,202 falling short of the $4,000 goal and amount raised last year. But the funds covered expenses for the month, so that is a good boost to our budget. Letters sent to residential donors of fruit generated nine donations totaling $992. Continuing a family tradition, board member Laurel Gray and family contributed $1,000. Crew leader Margaret Burton was again the volunteer earning top sponsorships with $300 from six donors. Board member and picker Roberta Cohen launched an online fundraiser from her Facebook page that generated six donors giving $167. Thanks to everyone who participated. Every dollar helps. Special thanks to board members Roberta Cohen and Cheri Gabler who coordinated the event.
In the meantime, order a Senior Gleaner shirt and cap to help fund our work and spread the word about our organization.
Shirts cost $15 and are available in many sizes and styles. Add a baseball cap for $10.

Join our Board of Directors to guide our next 25 years.
Seeking board members to guide our 25-year-old food rescue organization. Members don't need gleaning experience--just a passion for helping get quality food otherwise wasted to those needing it the most. Experience or familiarity with non-profit organization legal, financial and marketing issues desirable, but not essential. Prior board membership helpful. While volunteers must by 55 years of age or older, there is no age requirement for board members. This is an active board meeting quarterly--most members work on committees or projects during the interim.
